What happened to my internet?

Ok, I really need some help. I'm running an HP pavilion dv6000 and I've had it for a while. Alot of stuff over time has stopped working (COM surrogate (whatever that is), internet explorer, and HP quickplay to name a few), but nothing serious. But now, it cannot connect to my wireless router or even directly to the internet with an ethernet cable. Vista says it's an "unidentified network" when i use the ethernet and the wireless detection on the computer simply won't turn on. This seriously randomly happened, what can I do?
