When is this baby going to be born?

I'm 38.5 weeks and I really feel like this baby is really settled in there. I'm having contractions nightly every 5 to 10 minutes for hours but it never becomes painful and always stops. I'm just wondering if labor can come on suddenly or if this is an indication that I may go past my date.
