Can Anyone tell me why Java wont work on my new computer?!?

Can anyone help me with Java? Every time I try to play games on pogo.com it says I don't have Java installed on my computer. So to fix the problem I went to Java.com and tried to download the latest version of Java, but it said I already had the latest version installed on my computer. It told me that java might not be enabled on my computer so I followed the steps to enable it by going through internet options under the tools menu in internet explorer. I also went to the control panel and opened java there to enable java there and make sure internet explorer is the default for browsers.Next I cleared my cache as it told me to do on java.com. None of that worked. I deleted and reinstalled it 3 times and once more to reinstall it manually. The only problem I noticed is that a java icon down at the bottom right in the system tray. And its also not under the tools section under manage add ons. Does anyone have any advice?!
